About Our Company

Dhunseri Ventures Limited (DVL) of Dhunseri group which is one of the oldest business house was founded by the Dhunseri family as Dhunseri Tea Co. Limited involved in the cultivation and production of tea at its tea estates in the State of Assam founded on May 11, 1916.

Later in 2003, Dhunseri Group started its first Polyethylene terephthalate (PET) Plant in Eastern India (Haldia in West Bengal) under the name and style of South Asian Petrochem Limited and later in 2009, the Bottle Grade PET Resin business of South Asian Petrochem Limited) at Haldia, West Bengal was acquired by the Company in terms of a Scheme of Arrangement with effect from April 1, 2009. Following this, the name of the Company was changed to Dhunseri Petrochem & Tea Limited on July 1, 2010, resulting in the Company having two operating divisions i.e. Petrochem & Tea.

Pursuant to a further Scheme of Arrangement effective from April 1, 2014, the Company’s Tea Division was demerged and its IT SEZ Division was re-organised. The Company, thereafter, was carrying the Petrochem business through its Plants in Haldia and Egypt and accordingly, its name was changed to Dhunseri Petrochem Limited. The Company had entered into another Scheme of Arrangement with Dhunseri Petglobal Limited (“DPGL”) (now known as IVL Dhunseri Petrochem Industries Pvt. Ltd. or “IDPIL”) and their respective shareholders which has been sanctioned by the Hon’ble High Court of Calcutta vide its order dated July 27, 2016. Pursuant to the Scheme with effect from April 1, 2016, the PET Resin business of the Company in India was transferred to DPGL. IDPIL is a 50:50 joint venture between DVL and Indorama Ventures Global Services Limited (IVGS) of Thailand. IDPIL manufactures the finest bottle grade PET resin for packaging of drinking water, carbonated soft drinks, edible oil, pharmaceuticals and many more. IDPIL operates two PET resin plants in Haldia, West Bengal with a combined capacity of 480,000 TPA and one plant in Panipat, Haryana with an effective capacity of 216,000 TPA.

DVL has also entered into a 50:50 Joint Venture with Indorama Ventures Public Company Ltd. (“IVL”), a global chemical producer to restart its PET facility at IVL Dhunseri Polyester Company S.A.E. (formerly Egyptian Indian Polyester Company S.A.E.), located in the Ain Sokhna Free Trade Zone, North West of the Gulf of Suez in Egypt, with a manufacturing capacity of 540,000 TPA.

The name of the Company was changed from Dhunseri Petrochem Limited to Dhunseri Ventures Limited with effect from December 11, 2018.

At present, DVL is engaged in trading & treasury operations, including investments in shares and securities of other bodies corporate.

The Company has two wholly-owned subsidiaries:

    • Dhunseri Infrastructure Limited is in the business of developing and providing infrastructure facilities in Special Economic Zone for information technology and information technology enabled services (“IT/ITES”) at Bantala in the State of West Bengal.
    • Dhunseri Poly Films Private Limited, incorporated on November 28, 2020, has established Eastern India’s first BOPET film manufacturing plant - a Greenfield Project of 10.5 meter Bruckner Biaxially Oriented Polyethylene Terephthalate (BOPET) production line in Panagarh, West Bengal, which commenced production in December 2023. It is focused on producing high-quality BOPET films to serve various industries with a vision to achieve worldwide eminence through quality leadership and adherence to best global practices.

    Inauguration of our state-of-the-art manufacturing base in Panagarh, West Bengal, proudly establishing Eastern India’s first Biaxially Oriented Polyethylene Terephthalate (BOPET) film manufacturing facility with a capacity of 54000 TPA.

    2023

    Commercial Production Commenced (BOPET Line-I, Panagarh)

    Commencement of commercial production of BOPET Line I in Dhunseri Poly Films Private Limited's (DPFPL) Plant at Panagarh, West Bengal on 13 December, 2023.

    BOPP Plant Foundation Stone Laid (Kathua, J&K)

    Dhunseri Poly Films Private Limited's (DPFPL) BOPP Plants Foundation Stone was laid by His Excellency, Lieutenant Governor of J&K at Kathua, Jammu on 08 June, 2025.

    One of the group Companies is engaged in Petrochemical Business located in India and Egypt having a Turnover over One Billion US Dollars. A wholly-owned subsidiary has become one of India’s fastest-growing players in the flexible packaging industry - with a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility, the company produces a range of BOPET (biaxially-oriented polyethylene terephthalate) and BOPP (biaxially-oriented polypropylene) films that cater to global clients in food packaging, consumer goods, industrial wrapping, and more. With ventures like these, DVL continues to expand its presence in manufacturing, infrastructure, packaging, and international retail, while upholding the Group’s long standing values of quality, trust, and community responsibility.

    Dhunseri group has forayed into the international tea business through the acquisition of two tea estates at Malawi in East Africa.
