Dhanuka Dhunseri Foundation (DDF)

Guided by the principles of empathy, equity, and empowerment, our CSR strategy is primarily executed through the Dhanuka Dhunseri Foundation (DDF), established in 1972 as the cornerstone of our philanthropic endeavors.

Key Focus Areas

Constructing, supporting, and maintaining schools and colleges to foster learning, skill development, and provide quality education.

Promoting the cause of women's empowerment and education to create a more equitable and just society.

At the Foundation, we believe that enabling access to effective, affordable and benign medicines to all sections of society.. Shankarlal Dhanuka promoted Rama Homoeopathy Clinic in Kolkata in 1994 at 180 Chittaranjan Avenue. The clinic relocated to 204 Chittaranjan Avenue in 2007. The facility is a trusted clinic for dermatological problems, alopecia, and the removal of moles and scars - serving close to 1500 patients a month.

Supporting charitable organizations and actively participating in community welfare initiatives to uplift underprivileged sections of society through donations and meaningful assistance.

Establishing and supporting sports academies with state-of-the-art facilities to nurture talent, train aspiring athletes, and promote physical well-being.

Dhanuka Dhunseri Dibyendu Barua Chess Academy

The implementing agency, DDF, promotes the development of young chess players by supporting the Dhanuka Dhunseri Dibyendu Barua Chess Academy. The academy, inaugurated by Smt. Mamata Banerjee in 2019, has grown into own of the premier chess academies in India, having trained prodigies like Anish Sarkar, the world's youngest FIDE-rated player.

Dhanuka Dhunseri Soumyadeep Poulomi Table Tennis Academy

The implementing agency, DDF has constructed a Table Tennis Academy which shall contribute to the development of sporting facilities for garnering young talent by creating a state-of-the art academy in New Town, Kolkata with the objective to produce champions and facilitate personality development. It has built up area of approximately 45,000 sq ft. with multi-level facility having 27 table tennis tables and provide residential accommodation for 40 students including multipurpose activity room, gymnasium, cafeteria among other facilities. The Foundation also runs another Table Tennis Academy, located in 14A, Loudon Street, Kolkata with an infrastructure comprising 5 boards and 4 trainers.

Nature Cure & Yoga Centre

The implementing agency, DDF established the Nature Cure & Yoga Centre in Kolkata, West Bengal for promoting health care including preventive health care. The Centre has successfully healed thousands through completely natural treatments over more than five decades of it's operations (since 1965). DDF has developed a 30,000 sq. ft state-of-the-art ladies and men's naturopathic treatment facility in the centre.

Free Medicines & Charitable Dispensaries

Shankarlal Dhanuka Library

At the Foundation, we believe that a library provides students with a range of information on the one hand and makes it possible to reduce their educational material expenses.

The Shankarlal Dhanuka Library (inaugurated in 2001) was established with the objective to stock educational material, moderate enrolment fees, attract students and create an academic community.

The specialised library addresses students aspiring to become Chartered Accountants, Cost Accountants and Company Secretaries.
